Two questions :-

1) Does anyone know the headstock spindle thread (and thread-form) for a Kity 663 ?

2) If a chuck is described as attaching to the spindle by a 'standard 1" 8tpi', what is the thread-form likely to be ?

It means that the chuck is designed to fit on a spindle that has a thread size of 1" diam with 8 teeth per inch of spindle length

Thanks Vic, but I was looking for the thread form - UNC, Whitworth, 55deg, 60 deg etc.

Hi

Just to add confusion, it could also be a UNC form - I think you'll need to be more specific as to what has this thread.

Regards Mick

However most modern lathes (and chucks) are UNC see Teknatool information sheet page 4:
This is a modern chuck, so almost certainly UNC.

Also according to that list (page 5) and this one from Toolpost, Kity lathes are M33 x 3.5
Thanks.
