Quite gorgeous! I love the geometric design on the lid, is that your own invention or a design you picked up somewhere?

What woods did you use? I'm not good at identification, but I'm guessing oak and walnut?

It certainly makes finishing easy, even it's occasional rogue grain plays ball with a little splash of sealer and basic tool application.
A far cry from the Oak, which only responds well to very sharp tools across the open pored and disparate grain directions.

Just an attempt to implement an optical illusion often seen in marquetry and quilting. (and the easiest to produce cutting wise)
