iPhone, iCloud and data

Is there any option for telling the iPhone how to connect to the iCloud? Wi-Fi in preference to Orange/O2 etc ?

I could switch the iPad to Flight Mode but doing that on an iPhone kind of defeats the object in having a mobile phone!

But I'd hate to rack up huge data bills if it defaulted to Orange.

Supplementary question.....will all Apps on the iPad also work on an iPhone?

Don't know about the first question but to the second about Apps - No, it depends on the app. Those with a "+" sign will work on both the ipad and the iphone though resolution is often poorer on the ipad depending on the game because they're designed for the phone first.

Some apps will be ipad only and these are often "HD" versions so you get very high quality graphics and native resolution for the ipad but you can't install them on an iphone.

I thought it only did it on wifi anyway?
I've not done anything clever on mine and it doesn't use much 3G data.
