Can someone explain in as simple as possible terms the following .
1) How do you transfer pictures from a magazine to a post on here .
2) How do you transfer an email address .
3) I have read posts on here that have pictures and emails when you put the cursor on them and click you are moved to a website ,how do you do that ?.
I should point out that this questionare is to do with Woodturning magazines ,I have some pictures in our Woodturning mag. IWG which I would like to post on here ,the only other way would be to ask for all your addresses and send them by post . I thank those that help me in any way .

Are you talking about an on-line magazine or a printed one?

If the former you need to highlight the image and right click to select:

Properties>
then copy the URL. something like: http://www.quest42.co.uk/woodwork/turni ... CN3147.JPG

Then in your forum Post, paste that Url and add the IMG tags.

If you want to just call this image or page reference up rather than display the image then you need to add some extra code so that you get something like this.

Bowl Sample Image

To do that you need to enter it like this.

Code:
[url=http://www.quest42.co.uk/woodwork/turnings/small/smDSCN3147.JPG]Bowl Sample Image[/url]

If you want to call up a whole page then you copy and paste the page address from your Browser address bar;
which then Calls up the whole page

Code:
[url=http://www.quest42.co.uk/woodwork/html/page29.htm]Calls up the whole page[/url]Whole page sample[/url]

Hi eugene

to transfer a magazine pic or any hard copy you will require a scanner, which works like a photocopier - place mag or photo face down in scanner and then press the scan button. this then copies the pic to your pc.

If you dont have a scanner you could try photographing the mag :?

Transferring email addresses or web page addresses, or any text , one would use the 'copy' and 'paste' function.

So you have your web page open , highlight the entire address, then right click on the highlighted address and choose 'copy' from the drop down menu.

Then go back to your posting page and in your text , place cursor where you want the address to be placed, then right click and choose paste, like this ...wood-turning-lathes.html

The same goes for any text from any source in whatever program you are using, so for example MS office etc.
so in short...
1. highlight text (double click somewhere in the line of text, or place cursor at the end of the line, click and hold the left mouse button down and move cursor to beginning of line )
2. right click
3. copy
4. place cursor where you want the text
5. right click
6. paste.

simples :)
