imperial tape measure

There is a thread about all metric tape measures at the moment, I can get these easily at my local tool shop, but does anyone know a UK supplier for imperial only tapes. For some aspects of my work I use metric (all steel work for example) but when I am using some of my woodwork hand tools it is easier to work in imperial, for example if my groove is to be 1/4" I don't want to be subtracting 6.35 from 19, much easier to subtract 1/4 from 3/4.
I have some metric only tapes and some metric/imperial but I don't think I've ever had an imperial only one, rules yes, but tapes never.

I Googled Imperial only tape, found this Starrett imperial, there are some others.

Hi Rodders, that link only shows metric/imperial and metric only. I'm sure they must be available (what do the Americans use?) but I couldn't see any from a quick google or ebay search

You need the tapes with the english scale. Big T or the Trilock models are available with that scale, I believe they are made in the UK. I just can't seem to find a supplier. Might be worth contacting them direct.

Sorry I posted the wrong link, I should have posted this one. it's blank where the metric would have been, but you can put you're own mark, cut several, and wipe clean,

Just make sure that is uses inches from the British empire and not someone elses empire.

Most countries in Europe had their own inches all different in lenght. I have old folding rules with both Norwegian and Swedish inches. A Norwegian inch is longer than a British inch and a Swedish inch is shorter.

Chineese inches are even more bewildering because every inch is an individual with it's own lenght. This makes for some pretty interresting maths 1"+2"=3 1/8" Either they have tables where the lenght of each individual inch is listed..... or they are just unable to put the marks at consistant distances from one another....... :twisted:
