Hello all,

In my tool cabinet I wish to leave room for a LieNielsen 603 smoother. Problem is that I know its length as well as the width of the blade (44 mm, 1 3/4"), but I have no idea how much to add to that for the sides of the plane.
Can I measure my Bailey type planes and use that size or are the bedrock types different in width? I am hoping one of you has a LieNielsen (or Stanley) 603 and is willing to measure it for me.

thanks ever so much,
Jasper

whihc one is the 603? I have several LNs and would be happy to measure for you but cannot find a reference to 603 on the LN site

Unfortunately, I don't have a #3
OK, thanks for the help anyway.

I have a Stanley No 3 if that will help :)
If it's a bedrock no.3 it should be the same width exactly. If it's a Bailey I'd appreciate it also. I don't know if there even is a difference in the width of the sides between Bailey type and BedRock type planes.

Thank you all so far,
Jasper

My No3 is 55mm wide and 240mm long, I hope that will help.
I dont think there is any difference in the bailey and the bedrocks in size
