Here's a large one! 23" diameter from horse chestnut with plenty of ripple and burr figure. It was difficult to get a clean cut with all the figuring but I got there in the end.

Very attractive piece, simple profile is letting the wood do all the talking.

I think that's the most attractive piece of Horse Chestnut I've ever seen, certainly more attractive than anything that's found its way into my stocks.

That's a really lovely piece. Not over worked and lets the beauty of the wood do the talking.

I really like that piece. To me turning is just to show off the wood to its bes advantage and it sure looks like you have acheived that.

May I as what will you do with it? I have a (to me) very large piece of yew but not at all sure of the way to make best use of it.

regards

The platter has a home already lined up so in answer to your question about what I will do with it - I will deliver it! :)

When I went to collect the wood, I saw another couple of smaller but deeper pieces of wood with lots of figuring too so I still have those to use. They should make some nice bowls.

Greg, side view wouldn't be too interesting as it's mainly flat across the bottom to make it stable but I do have a pic of the back. The rim is curved on both sides.
