I'm on a facebook forum, and somehow I'm helping someone to fix an office chair
and Idea what these are called?

That's what I thought as well. Damned job is a 5 minute one that has lasted a week so far. It would be easier to throw it away TBH. I could fix it easily but she is in London and I'm in the Midlands! Perils of being a nice guy I suppose
