hi
as in the pic, i have this dovetail jig, it used to belong to my dad and was bought from screwfix quite a few years ago.
what i want to ask, is how exactly do you use it and is it any good for dovetails.
ive had a go with it, but results were terrible to say the least.
theres no instructions for it and i was hopeing someone could walk me thru exactly what you have to do to get reasonable results.

thanks.

I've got one of them and gave up on it as I couldn't get consistency or precision with it - you get what you pay for I guess

I also created a rough spreadsheet for the calculations described in the manual ... somewhere ...

I sold mine when I found it was easer to do them by hand.

The tightness of the fit is down to the projection of cutter and the position of the template controls how flush the joint ends up, the position of the template has twice the effect once on the pins and once on the tails.

Once you get it set for one thickness leave it and measure the height of your cutter.
