Evening gents,
I'm in the need of a generous ukw member who's local to me Bournemouth who could help me cut up and log I have on their bandsaw.

Thanks
TT

I'm near Basingstoke, about an hour away, and might be able to help if not too far for you.

Would be helpful to know more about your log and what you need doing too ?!

Cheers, Paul

Hi Paul,
Thank you so much for you offer, if it ok I'll wait to see if anyone closer can help first, if not then I'd like to tak you up on your offer.
The log isn't that big. I just want it squared up into some blanks. The wood I laburnum,
The log is a freak of nature and will make some great blanks for a secret project.
I will get dimensions tomorrow.

I have access to a chain saw but I'd rather use a bandsaw so less can go wrong and less waste.

Thanks mate
I'll bring beers or money for he or she who helps

D'ya know the more I think about this Toby the more I think you should rip it by hand if you have a suitable saw.

Jimi

I did think that but haven't a say to secure the piece or a sharp saw.
Tho it's something I may have to think about.
A modern hard point ripsaw can be had for very little.

Thanks TT

Take it to farewells in tiptoe/sway. They have a fully functioning saw mill there and am sure they would happily cut it up for you there. Doghnuts will help your cause.

Can you get a hard point rip saw- I have never seen one and one would be useful if they exist.
