Hello!
I wonder if anyone can help me identify a part which came with an ex school Wadkin BL wood lathe I bought.
It is made from heavy bronze, is hollow, threaded to accept the 1.5" 6tpi right hand thread of the inbound side and has a very fine but rough finished internal thread on the tailstock end of the tool. It could be a kind of a collet made especially for a specific educational task but why bronze? Maybe to extract as much money as possible from supplying schools!
Please see attached photos.
I'm sure the answer will be straightforward but I'd love to know. Thanks for any input!
