Hi Guys,

I'm heading to Poland for a couple of days - are there any good tools/fixings worth buying whilst over there, that are not available in the UK?

Cheers,

S

As far as I'm aware Narex Chisels, a well regarded "better than hobby grade" of chisels are made in Poland so could well be cheaper to buy there than another EU country as very little shipping costs will have been added to the sale price, just make sure you put them in your flightbag and not in your carry on.

In UK it's around £60 for a set of 6 loose and thereis a boxed set available too.

Edit: Sorry they are made in Czech republic, but I still think they would be cheaper there than here.

Narex are from Czech Republic I think.
I go to Poland a lot, Drive my Polish wife mad trying to find tool shops. (always stock up on metric only tape measures)
Slim pickings I am afraid, French and German diy superstores are the order of the day. Unless you can take some timber home stick to the beer and sausage,,,,

Just an update.
Not tool related but wood related. If you are near Gdansk. Go to Szymbark in Kashubia.
An upside down wooden house, the worlds longest pine plank, and an original wooden hut from the Siberian gulag await.
Sounds strange but its a lovely place set in forest and Lakeland..

The Germans used to have a advertizement that said why not come to Poland for your holidays your car is already here.
