Hi Guys,
Brand new on here and for the record I have no knowledge of working in wood.

My Uncle died rece
ntly and I have been charged with clearing out his workshop which is crammed with Lathes, Drills and hand tools including wooden planes, metal planes bits, chucks virtually everything I guess.

Danny worked on furniture and carvings for private clients so that might give an insight into what type of equipment he had. he was always meticulous when it came to looking after the tools and equipment so it is all in really good, clean condition.

I am looking for guidance on how to price these items for sale and of course find the right market for them and was wondering if I detail the products on here with some photo's whether some of you guys would be willing to help me out. Based on the postings I have read you all seem pretty knowledgeable with regard to the equipment so as long as I am not contravening any of the sites guidelines any help would be appreciated.

For starters here are just a few of the machines I have identified:

Record DML 24X Wood Turning Lathe With Bench
Duplex Chuck System By Multistar
Multico PM20 Chisel Morticer
Record Scan Wet Grinder
Dewalt Powershop DW1751 Radial Power Saw
Bandsage BAS 315 Bandsaw

Thanks in advance

John

Advertising them on here also tends to get a pretty decent response too. The rules require you to publish a price so it isn't an auction. It is a special interest group that is highly targeted however :)

..and there lies John's problem, he first needs to know what the tools are worth.

No sure.....got that....but the other posters all seemed to ignore the option of actually selling them here once value is established. John did ask what an appropriate market might be in addition to the value question.

You would probably want to research the price even if you just sold it by auction on ebay. Specialist items may not get many viewers so you run the risk of selling at a low price.

If you research the price, this is a great place to sell and you are selling to enthusiasts who are likely to take care of the tools, I'm sure you're uncle would have wanted them to go to a good home. Plus there are no selling fees....

Depending on model of grinder. This is what one went for on ebay -

Mortiser I'd say approx. £400

Hi

I'm pretty sure the 20 post threshold has something to do with this - is 20 posts too high?

Regards Mick
