Does anyone know why the Sorby long grind bos

s comes with a grubscrew & alun key.

Well, it can only be to lock the barrel onto the bar and fix that angle....though I have no idea why you'd want to do that!

If it did not lock onto the bar it would be easy for the bar to slide out of the sharpening jig.

This is off the Pro - edge and different to to your photo. Thanks anyway.

Actually the adapter is for both the universal sharpening system and the Pro-edge. The grub screw wouldn't be needed on the Pro-edge as the bar the adapter sits on is fixed and the adapter needs to move as you sharpen. The grub screw is needed on the USS as Terry has pointed out.
