I've been a subscriber to F&C for about eight years I think, for me it was at it's best under Colin Eden-Eadon, Derek Jones is a nice bloke, I met him once, but the direction he has taken the magazine in is not for me, too many American contributors, too much of the auction and antiques stuff and the usual repetion of the practical stuff, how many ways can you sharpen a blade and cut a dovetail? I was hoping Derek was going to produce a magazine with something a bit different, perhaps some of the more advanced techniques that the likes of Marc Fish, Waters & Acland and others use, but no that didn't happen. I guess you get to a point when you outgrow what the various woodworking publications have to offer, I've now cancelled my subscription, if anyone can point me in the direction of a magazine that offers some of the more advanced techniques I'd be grateful, I can't find one.
