help! i want to make a cradle that rocks to and fro.i am told that i can use a pivot pin?can anyone clarify this item or suggest an alternative,and where i could buy one from.

I made a pivoting crib a while back and added stops to minimise the risk of the baby tipping right out.

I found for my crib limiting the swing to +/- 4 degrees.

Scan down to the small plastic blocks which provide the stops.
These and the ball bearing pivots were home made in my engineering workshop

The pivot-pin I know of is the type used for tilting mirrors on dressing tables. They are tight enough to fix at any angle, but they can be made to swing more freely.
