firewalls

I bought a second hand laptop and went online to get a firewall. I got zapped with a program that took over and wouldn't allow me to download
anything except what it wanted me to. I finished up formatting the drive but I only have Windows 98 spare to load(Genuine). The problem is I want to download a firewall on my main computer and save to disc, then install on the laptop. Zonealarm no longer support 98 so if anybody has any ideas of a way round this(short of a new xp version) I would be very grateful

Agnitum Software do a free version of their excellent Outpost firewall here. I don't know for certain that it supports Windows 98, but it must be worth a try.

Thank fellas. After trying to work with win 98 it's not really an option now.
I will have to bite the bullet and buy xp or win 2000
