Hi, all.

As a total novice, I've been practising my joints all week and today I finally made something... that fits! It's not completely perfect, and I screwed it up when I attacked it with my smoothing plance in a fervour of excitement and chipped it out a bit, but nonetheless I am ridiculously proud of my small achievement.

Now for the dovetail!

I'm sure everyone on this forum's been many there times before, it's all part of the learning process.

When you get the hang of one joint, you're ready to tackle an entire project.

I spent yesterday afternoon cursing at some very bad dowel joints that I made (since abandoned in favour of biscuit joints). However, it's made me realise that I really must commit to making tenon joints in future.

Could you reduce the size of your avatar, please, Oswaldo? It's nice work but that size of photo compresses the text area of the threads that you post in. Thanks.
