Many years ago I got some sheets of blockboard with a hardwood centre - this is quite a nice material as it has strength in all planes and has a nice contrast between a white outer skin and a dark core.

However !!! - inevitably there are small voids in the hardwood centre core and I'm seeking suggestions on how to fill these. I've just made a long swan neck to support a decorative glass panel my daughter has made and there are some small areas in the dark wood that would look better if filled. I believe waxes are available for this but for a small one off I don't particularly want to go down this expense - is there a shortcut (ie colouring beeswax, etc), or another option?

Cheers

Rob
