How can I get rid of Facebook? I am fed up with reading about what other people have had breakfast and what they are going to do today. Because of this I do not subscribe but keep getting reminders that I 50 notifications, most of which, I think, are from people I don't know.

Any help gratefully received, bit not through Facebook!!!

John

You'd have to sign in and either turn off email notifications (which I assume is what you're talking about) or remove your account.

Or if this is a smartphone - simply remove the app

I deactivated my account a while ago and found it quite simple IIRC, don't remember there being a lot of steps.

I totally agree. I haven't been on here for a while. My employment leaves little time for such things in recent months, but if I'm going to waste away, sitting at a computer, I want to be reading about tools or wood, for the most part. If I must hear about what someone had for breakfast, then it needs to be followed by a description of the woodworking they did afterward. My wife is Facebook addicted, which is great for keeping in touch with the grandchildren. It also affords me more time in the workshop, which makes me feel a bit guilty at times, but it's no way to spend a life!
