I'm ok working in my garage/workshop when the weathers good as I leave the door open, but come the winter I will have to work with it shut, I have one of these

http://www.axminster.co.uk/axminster-ho ... -extractor

which I bought when I got my planer/thicknesser, I now want to fit 'proper' dust extraction with blast gates, I don't think my extractor is up to it, I intend to connect my planer/thicknesser, my bandsaw (Record BS400), my table saw, my sliding mitre saw, plus an array of handheld tools (sanders, routers etc etc)

The extractor has to be housed inside so I'm thinking I need a hoover type? I have read somewhere that you need something with at least a 2hp motor, but I'm struggling to find anything that 'fits the bill'.

I haven't got a lot of cash to spend, I'm a hobby woodworker, I make things for family and friends, because of my disability I rarely spend more than a couple of hours in there, so what do I need?

TIA

If you have not got a lot to spend but want something with a bit oomph, have a look out for nilfisk hoovers. They are twin motors with a hand shaker for the filters and are meant for wood work. They cost a fortune new but come up on ebay. I was lucky and found one at a carboot for £40. They are not hugely noisy like canvacs either. I would go for the older grey ones, they are industrial rated. Heres one that sold

I've got the NV750, the one with a single motor, but it doesn't have a 100mm port, just 2 at 50mm I think it is. With only one piece of machinery on at a time it copes very well. It's fairly quiet too - around 70db.
