dust extraction

i need a good dust extractor for my drum sander axminster have one theFM 300BC with fine filter cartridge for £298. has anybody got one of these machines and what is there performance like i also have to make about a ten FT run to connect up to the extractor.

Make sure you check the specs of the fine filter carefully, I don't think it's up to the job of collecting from a sander personally. It only gets a performance rating of 2 even with the cartridge filter, as opposed to something like the vacuum extractors they sell like the Numatics which get a 4. Sanding dust is notoriously pervasive (and dangerous), insufficient filtering on a machine with that kind of airflow and you could end up simply redistributing the really fine stuff, potentially making the problem worse.
