Not a tool but it is sort of

Im thinking of getting a wireless door bell so when im in the workshop or garden I can hear when people call by. At the moment we just have a brass knocker so looking to upgrade  . Can anyone recommend one , doesn't need to have a massive range the workshop is less than 20 m from the front door. Maybe a light would be handy if machines are running and I cannot hear it.

I've fitted a couple of the Freeland ones where you can have a remote bell they work well. You can also have more than one bell push so could have front door as well as back door or side gate and you get a different chime so you know which door to answer.

You can use them with their own wireless bell pushes or wire in a standard push to a wireless unit. They will also flash if you want

Same as Jason, I have a wireless bell push and two ringer boxes, one in the house and one in the workshop, you can take either out into the garden with you if working outside and have a good range. Good volume and light flashing too as mentioned. Can also be set up with pirs to signal if someone comes down your drive or to the door, whether or not they might ring the bell, useful for security if that's a concern.

Cheers, Paul

I got mine from here http://www.mrdoorbell.com/

Two plug in bells chime units and 2 buttons. If they press the house bell you hear one tone in both the workshop and house and if they press the workshop it plays a different sound in both house and workshop, very good up to yet.
