As the title suggests, could anyone help me by telling me what brand and model of lathe this is? I'm trying to find out its approximate value.

Thanks in advance!

There was a picture on a thread here not very long ago that showed a headstock that had an odd arrangement on the spindle, like some sort of cylinder outside a faceplate of sorts. I believe the consensus was that it was some sort of copy lathe. That looks vaguely similar - make sure if you are thinking to buy (which I assume you are) that you can mount conventional centres and chucks.

Are you buying or selling?

I'm going to an auction and have only seen this photo of it. I'll be having a look at it in the flesh later today anyway. It looks an interesting bit of kit, so was wondering whether it could be worth a punt (if it goes for the right kind of money)

From the photograph it looks like the tailstock needs a spanner to adjust - very inconvenient. As has been said, check the spindle thread. If you already have a lathe, I would be looking to buy another with the same thread, else it's buy chucks etc all over again

From the look of the angle iron bed that could well be a rather nicely finished scratchbuilt lathe. Any provenence or story with it?

I think it might have been a copy lathe, and probably out of my price range!! Its at the HJ Pugh, Ledbury timber and tools auction. But cant find much about it online anywhere!
