Dice cup...string?

Hi guys. I am making some dice cups for some friends. The issue I have is I am making lids for the cups as well however I want to be able to attach them with a string but I cannot think of any nice types of string / ribbon.

Any suggestions? (Cups aren't made yet, starting the first batch tomorrow, so no pictures yet!)

How about some thin wire rope? You could drill a 2mm hole in each piece and epoxy it in, or make up some articulated arrangement with eyelets.

Or leather, you can buy leather string easily enough.

Have a browse around your nearest Hobby/Craft shop for Jewellery Finding's for necklace cords and the like.

This is a selection of those I keep to hand.

The leather is a great idea but I am worried about having to drill a hole too big. The jewellery finnings is the stuff I was thinking of just didn't know the name.

I'll see if I can find some thin leather, would fit a little better I think.
