Hi all,

while i had some spare time today, i thought i would have a quick go at a Dice (or should that be Die)

start off with a blank square.

made a quick jig from some scrap wood

used a 9mm drill bit, just pressing the angled end of the drill bit into the wood

after drilling

a bit of wax added

though its not perfect, i like the look. if i spend a bit more time on it they would look alot better. plus i think a smaller drill bit would make spacing the holes easier.

Paul, for setting the numbers on dice, do what I do, I have made a jig, with the six points drilled through with a small bit to show locations, then I have fitted sides to it so that it is always contained in the right position, mark the positions and then follow up with a plugging bit or as you have done half round bit.

i'll make up a proper jig next time, as you suggest.
The square i made is approx 1.5" and seems about right size. what are yours?

What do i coat them with so that there safe for kids ? i.e. there likely to get teeth marks :)
