New Luddism. Wake up and resist.
Bit of a long shot, these are on ebay but have got to go, so I thought I'd try here
I really don't want to scrap them.
Bargain at £500
Cast iron columns x 4
Uniquely decorative; fluted and beautifully painted to look like Derbyshire Marble.
Have been mistaken for the real thing, even more so if wax polished.
The paint is generally in good condition except for a few scratches and missing areas.
92” long, width 4 1/4” to 8”
Very heavy.
These were supporting the gallery in a chapel built 1874 in Middleton by Wirksworth, home of Hopton-wood stone.
