Hello everybody..

Im fairly new to this wood working mullarkey, and I am finding it very difficult to find a straight piece of wood of any kind. Can anybody point me in the right direction, (not too far from Bury St Edmunds if possible. I have a van). You may think im being lazy, but my eyes are on my cheeks looking through the interweb.

Forever in your debt, Mr P Marshall.

Straight wood usually doesn't stay straight for long once you start move it around locations and begin to work it. You would be better off acclimatising wood to your workshop and then straightening it when you need ot use it

For softwoods, Ridgeons are pretty good. I use the Attleborough branch, but they have a branch in Bury St Edmunds too.
They also do panelled products and hardwoods (the latter out of their Sudbury branch).

There are one or two forum members near to you, so someone may come along with some local tips. :)

Dave
