At the moment I only have 2 sash cramps ( 4ft Record's). I've got a few to make soon, all of which are varying sizes (tall cabinet & small stuff) so instead of getting different size sash cramps, I thought I'd get some cramp heads.

Which are good ones to get? Was planning on getting 2 sets and a budget of around £25-30. I won't be using on a regular basis (site joinery is my day job. Making cabinets, etc is an occasional thing) so don't want to spend loads.

I guess when long lengths of timber are used there is an increased risk of it bowing when the cramp heads are compressed. I guess something like 2"x 1" or 3"x1" is used? Would it reduce the chance of bowing if I was to attach a similar size of timber to the one that holds the cramp heads to make it T section?
Cheers
Jon
