I had a look to see whether the condenser unit could be put through a dishwasher, and someone suggested ther best way to clean them was with a pressure washer. I couldn't justify getting the pressure washer out for that little job, but I have a very good fine jet nozzle on a hose with very good mains pressure. I have washed the thing through occasionally before but I didn't believe the sludge that came out it - it has to have made the thing way more efficient.

Somewhere in the instructions it probably tells you to clean it after every drying cycle, so it does not build up. But who reads instructions. As I always say, if I have to read the unstructions to work something it's been badly designed, the same rule applies to computer software ;)
