I just bought one of these - it has a triangular plastic "thingie" around the bearing, the idea of which is to provide more surface area to contact the work piece.

But - looking at it, and trying it out, the cutter actually isn't flush with the plastic on the bearing and results in taking almost 1mm out of the work piece i.e. where the cutter should (I think) be flush with the work piece, it cuts in.

Am I missing something here?

Cheers,

Paul.

I assume that this is the bit you mean. It is listed as a flush trim bit so I would expect it to trim flush, not take a bite out of your workpiece. Check both of the flutes with each of the three bearing faces to make sure they all align perfectly, if not send it back for refund or replacement.

yes it is - I'll send it back, although I wonder as it's so far out whether there's a more fundamental problem with it?
