Club directory

I think perhaps turning is a bit different (perhaps we are more sociable LOL) than general woodworking in that turners tend to attend clubs.

Seeing a recent post requesting info on clubs in the Ipswich area, I thought it may be an idea to have some sort of club directory?

I have joined a smashing little club and part of its appeal is its small friendly nature.

Its only a year old, just had our agm tonight but it is going strongly, membership is only 51 but finance is strong. We have weekly saturday demonstrations.

.....thats AWGB only, I am also a member of the local branch of the AWGB (Chelmer Valley Woodturners) but the Sandon Woodturners is not AWGB

there is a list here northern federation of woodturners

Not sure how active the federation is these days but the clubs still run

the only local club to you is the one that i am a member of and that is the EVWA (Erewash Valley Woodturners Association) http://www.evwa.org.uk/
Our next meeting will be on wednesday 14th April. You would be most welcome to come along. If you want directions give me a ring on the No. I sent you the other day.

Thanks Malcolm, unfortunately I don't drive so getting there would take an age, hence I was looking for somewhere closer
