Having a great time playing with Chinese Ball tools. Managed to get to 4balls, not yet managed the 5th one yet. Need to keep practising.

Very well done, far more patience than I have to concentrate on finishing one of those.
Watched Chinese craftsmen doing them in Wood, Onyx and Jade for several hours, they made it look so casual to the point of personal embarrassment when I related to my own skills.

Great job on the balls. I have watched David's video on how he did them and certainly appreciate how much work you put into them.

I did think of getting the tools when they came out, but for the amount of time I would use them decided to buy other bits for turning. I may in the future get a set or even make them.

I've watched David Springett making them and admired his skill.

I tried to follow David's method and got bogged down and put the tools aside for a time and thought that was a waste of a birthday present. However I was determined to try again and I found a site by Joe Skehan http://www.magicalwoodproducts.com where he advised starting with a one level ball and working up from there. Another site for information on this is Fred Holder's at http://www.morewoodturningmagazine.com Using these two site I have managed to get to a 4 ball, and am still trying for the 5 ball one.

They are amazing. Don't think I could ever have the patience or finesse for those!
