As the title suggest is the wood from a catkin tree any good for wood working?

Cutting my tree off and before i get rid of it wanted to know if it can be used.

Unfortunately there are about a dozen uk trees with catkins. Would you know which one it is?

Willow isn't much use for anything, really.
..............
Cricket bats, aspirins, trugs and baskets. :)

Aspirin's synthetic. And only salix caerulea alba's used for bats. Great if you need a trug, though. :)
Of course I know but that's where it first came from and do we know the OP's tree isn't salix caerulea? :)

As a kid I lived near the Thames in Berkshire. A local farmer planted one of his meadows with "cricket bat willow", must have been 3 acres of them. They grew very well but we moved before they were harvested so I don't what the outcome was.

it will still take root in your stove!

Actually I did believe they used some extract from willow to put into aspirin. Is it Salicylic acid?
I could be wrong...
