One of my first attempts at turning, was this simple candle holder made from a Yew log from my sons tree that he culled recently. When I started turning it, this huge flaw appeared. I was about to throw it in the fire wood box, when my wife saw it. She suggested to carry on with it, as it might turn out to be a feature. So that's how it finished up, with a stained burnt look down one side.
