A chap that I know through work had mentioned that he had some Yew on his burn pile, it was destined for destruction but had proved difficult to actually get burning. I gave him a call today and popped over with my little chainsaw, apart from tipping petrol all down left leg, it went quite well.
I came home with around 6' of Yew, the outer surface being heavily charred, but I'm really pleased with my haul. There's some more still on the burn pile, but that'll have to wait a little longer until I can organise somewhere to store it.
I've now got the endgrain sealed with wax.
