Budget Air compressor for nailer...

Hello all,

I am looking at buying a small compressor to use pretty much exclusively with a nailer and the air blower attachment in my yet to be bought shed.

Have been looking at 24ltr models around the £100 mark (tight budget!) and have narrowed it down to these two:

The stanley one appeals to me as it come with a cheap accessory kit meaning less initial outlay.

What sort of a difference is the 1.5hp of the stanley compared to the 2hp of the Airmaster one likely to make?

The stanley one is also oil free which I understand means less maintenance and cleaner air, but possibly more noise?

I've just picked up this one and it's fine. Pretty loud but it doesn't kick in that often. They also did a nice little 8L model but I think it has been discontinued now.

I found it via http://www.mytoolkit.co.uk as I watched some of his video's when looking for a nail gun. He sells them but they're a bit more expensive than direct from the manufacturer. The compressor looks to be very similar to a Clarke one I saw in Machinemart but the CFM spec is much higher on the Rhyas.

Aldi has one for sale in the next few days, plus various attachments. Looks to be good value & as usual with a 3 year guarantee.

If you only use it with a nailer it should last you a long time. I bought a real cheapie, "to get me started".

It lasted 13/14 years of almost daily use.

It would have lasted a lot longer had I bothered to put some oil on it.

Screwfix have a 24l 2HP compressor on offer at the moment for £70 if the Aldi one is too big or outside your budget

I'm quite tempted myself, but I've been spending a bit too much on tools recently and don't REALLY need a compressor.

Tried to use the poste durl for screwfix, but it wouldn't let me in, You can't become a customer unless you already are a customer.. WTF don't they let anyone see whatthey are selling, having a website to sell stuff and then to exclude people from seeing it is rediculous. It is like fitting double glazing then removing the glass.
