Brassware decorative corner reinforcers

Ive been restoring an old writing box for a friend of mine that had little L shaped brass corner insets. 3 out of 4 of them are missing and I'm hoping to replace them. Does anyone have any idea where I might get them please?

Hi,

You can cut brass with a fine blade on a band saw, so it might be easier to make some than find exact replacements.

You can buy brass trip from model shops or on-line from model boat shops. Not difficult to work as long as you dont fiddle about too much. Form it over a hard piece of wood, sandwiched and press it over and a light hammer to get a good edge on it. Best wishes.

Nitromors, polish, degrease (very thoroughly) then spray lacquer, cut back with T-cut afterwards.

I don't know about the wood, but that'll do the brass bits!

(and if it's the middle straps missing, you won't find them hard to make).
