I have just completed my pair of candle sticks for the competition and have used brass inserts. Now all the candles I have seem to be too small and flop over can you get smaller inserts, I got mine from stile and bates and are quite a decent quality

The ones I use the most came from Axminster and they fit common or garden candles, preferably with a slight chamfer on the base for maximum stability, as seen on the fancier variety.

26.5mm diameter at the rim by 15.5mm deep. Internal dimensions are 22mm tapering to 19.7mm

Which would appear to be the same as the 'brassed' versions from S&B

The more expensive solid Brass sold by S&B are bigger, 25mm inside the top by 20mm deep.

Just been out to the shed they are the Axminster ones and not stile and bates which I though ( I have stile and bates 20 minutes one way and axminster 20 minutes the other so use both)

With axminster it works out cheaper to order online but it is still nice to be able to go and have a good rummage around
