This bowl was a older piece of turning which was very plain and simple one before I gave it a facelift.

Anyway the story behind the facelift

I have been asked by my dear mum for a bowl she can give to a dear friend as a Christmas present. The friend is quite religious so I cleaned the inside so the finish did not give any problems when using the Pyrography machine. I am happy with the outcome just hope it is what is needed.
I have not decorated more than half a dozen pieces with the machine. I even put a name and wood type on the bottom does this look OK and should I continue to burn this on the bottom of my pieces in other words does it look tidy enough

Great work on the decoration, better detail than a good many I've seen at events plying their wares, looks like you've found another string to your bow.

Sig? looks OK, hand crafted is going to take a lot of practice if you are trying to replicate the finesse of a hot stencil.
I struggle to keep my indelible pen notes looking reasonable without the variables associated with a hot wire.

Perhaps just a centralised couple of straight lines might be easier to control than trying to follow the curve.

Thank you both.

Chas it has been suggested that by making a couple of lines in the foot with a skew to act as guides for the writing around the foot which I will try next tome I turn a bowl.
