Has this vac a while and it's a great machine however I find due to the size of the base the bags only get half full.

Are their any after market bases that would give more room for the bags.

The Bosch GASxx range of extractors are made in 15, 25, 35 and 55 litre sizes at least.
Some, like the 35 and 55 litre versions are the same except for the size of the bin.

I've never seen an aftermarket bin.
Depending which model you have, google to see if they make a bigger version of it and keep your eyes open for one with a burned out motor that you can salvage for the bin.

I thought cyclones only worked with dust extractors not little shop vacs.
No, they work great on shop vacs.
Look at the festool dust extractor range and you'll see they make a "Thien baffle" type cyclone accessory that uses a big systainer as a container to boost the capacity.
Many people use oneida or dust commander type plastic cyclones on boxes, bins and plastic barrels with shop vacs, Henry's, pretty much any vacuum cleaner you want.

I have a Bosch GAS 35 and it works very well with a cyclone attached to it.
No more clogged filter or bags. Suction is good even when the cyclone bin is nearly full.

The plastic cones give a much better indication of this predicament 😖
