Hey!!

Any advice on the best finish for an oak bookshelf?!

Blackboard paint ,white emulsion, anti-vandal paint, treacle :wink: :wink:

Depends on what sort of finish you are looking for. I use Danish oil on oak.

Osmo PolyX, or for the palest possible finish, Chestnut Oils shellac sanding sealer followed by high build wax.

+1 for Danish oil (Rustins).
Be careful to wipe off all excess before it dries and denib with ~240 grit.

+1 for any of the hardwax oils. Osmo, CHestnut, Fiddes. Probably others as well. Easy to apply, just two coats, no nasty smells, don't need spray kit. Perfect for the home woody.
