Bench top Planer/Thicknesser

Hi all , am thinking of getting a bench top planer as I have limited space , has anyone got one Thay would recommend ?

Don`t get the draper one ( i have the 8 inch one) or its cousins badged various different names and colours.
It is just about capable of dealing with soft pine, show it some oak and it sort of chatters and refuse to cut well even on the most minute if cuts with fresh blades.
The fence is worthless and it is amazingly loud.

Sorry to not be able to recommend any but this may be equally helpful.

I read a few good reports of the Dewalt thicknesser a while back (American magazine so probably Fine Woodworking) - that seems just about luggable.
