I have several of these Rider planes now, rebate; bullnose/chisel; #4 and have just had a #7 delivered last week. will put a review up once its been checked oveer properly and fettled. but so far I've found them all to be pretty reasonable for the prices.
 
I've got a couple of the older rider planes bought on a deal as they were launching this new range. Once setup properly they are great planes and really good value. I'm after a shoulder plane and will be getting another Rider plane as I think they represent a great match of quality and cost.
 
Interesting to note this new plane has stuck with the older and more traditional style of cap iron. Unlike the flatter and more modern versions as used by Lie Nielsen, Woodriver, Quengshang etc.

Still, looks to begood value for money.
