Hello,

I have just tried to undo the six screws on the cutter-head. They are incredibly tight and I cannot undo them. I spoke to Axminster and they admitted they've had a few problems with the screws. The only thing that can be done is to send the unit back to Axminster and have them deal with the problem.

Overall, I am very pleased with the thicknesser and would recommend it. However, I would suggest that when you place your order, you ask that these screws be checked and eased if necessary.

Regards, Peter.

I undid mine with an impact screwdriver. I don't mean you have to welt it so hard that the workshop shakes! Just a light tap on the impact driver with a medium weight hammer moved the screws easily. I don't know what they locked them in with but it sure was effective. They are fine now. No damage to the machine either.
Sounds drastic but it wasn't!
