It seems a good buy if someone has the elec know-how to replace the capacitor and not too bad even if a new motor is needed.

I don't understand the comment about Axminster not selling capacitor, they hold the spares, they sent me one in the post under warrantee.
They do not know that you have not got a qualified electrician at hand.
The only reason I can think is that they may be doubtful about the motor integrity based on the description of the failure by the previous owner.

If anyone has similar problems I would recommend getting a better quality item from a local electrical factor anyway, the chinese made ones on these motors are not exactly 'best quality'.

Job entails two wires to cut and re connected to new item with slim chocolate strip or better still in-line insulated crimps.
