Got this

from this, the piece on the right,Dean had the big piece.

Not sure, again what the wood is,though it does have a very pungent smell to it.
Had some furring when trying to sand smooth. Not finished very well due to fingers aching, moam, moan. But another piece of practice done :D
Size is 9-1/2" dia x 4-1/4" high.Sanding sealer and woodwax finish.

Hi Paul.

Nice bowl, but I've no idea what your wood is. I do like the figuring in it though.

In the second pic. the heart wood seems dark, but in the bowl it looks light. Pity you don't know what it is, it looks interesting.

Well done.

Very nice,Paul - I really like the shape.Balance and proportions make it into one of those pieces I would like to pick up and hold :D

Andrew

I'll just echo Andrew on that one Paul, the treatment of the rim achieves an impression of lightness.

It looks a fine textured wood whatever it is.

Thanks for the comments everyone. :D

Well this piece as been soaked in meths, turned, waxed and polished and in the house now for a few days, and the smell is quite strong still,so much so that it is now back outside.SWMBO orders
