short story:

I've got a narrow (150-180mm wide) but tall (1800mm) door to fit that will be fitted to 18/19m MDF
One side of the hinge can/will go on the face of the door but the other will fit to the end/butt of the assembly.

How do the piano hinge measurements work? I was under the impression they were "narrow" but the narrowest I've found is circa 25mm....

Cheers

Hi there - that measurement is usually the open width of the hinge. If I remember correctly 25mm (or 2 x 12.5mm leaves) is the narrowest available.

Cheers

Paul

Edit: Having said that I thought I should check - and found a lot of 20mm hinges!

and you probably need special piano hinge screws with small heads.

Like the Man said, you'll need the smaller screws, otherwise the hinge won't close up properly, Bradawl them too,
So's the screws go in straight.
