Well I like wood obviously, or I wouldn't be here, but you can have too much of anything. Impressive I suppose, but "Reserve" is clearly an alien concept to the man.
I like it a lot.
I don't think it would work if it was small though. We looked at a normal size house here with lots of timber showing and that was overpowering.
I agree it's all a bit too OTT. For anyone wanting to get back to basics for this sort of thing, and in case anyone hasn't already seen it, it does give me the perfect excuse to post a link to this wonderful film about Dick Proenneke building a much simpler cabin in Alaska. I think that for many of us it's the perfect fantasy woodwork project!
