Ali Chequer plate instead of Phenolic Ply

I need to replace the floor of my 8ftx4ft trailer. Currently 11 yr old phenolic ply which is rotting through. I've never bought chequer plate before so I'm pretty clueless.

If I replaced it with aluminium chequer plate how thick would it need to be. 3mm / 6mm/ thicker ?? Trailer has a max load capacity of 900kg.

6mm should be sufficient assuming your current deck is 1/2" or 3/4" ply and there are at least two braces across the width.

Can you tell me how you calculated that 6mm would be OK...if at all. I'm getting a few contradictory guidelines from others.
